Jags parents and team members would like to thank everyone that participated in our fundraiser events and all of the business and individual sponsors that help make this trip possible.   The team was given the opportunity of a lifetime and we are all very grateful for the support in helping us all get there!

ECCATS has taught my daughter so much about competitive cheerleading.  It has made her a more confident and strong individual.  The friendships made with the coaches and parents at ECCATS are something we will cherish through life.  We will never forget winning that first National Championship!  Thanks ECCATS!!
Susan and Sally Thornton

I wanted to send this communication to let you know what a positive impact your gym has had on my daughter, Jasmine Mitchell. You, your coaches, your staff and the parents of ECCATS have done an excellent job in providing an environment that is clean, positive, motivating and encouraging. Jasmine started there at the gym around September 2004, when I was looking for a safe after-school environment for her. Her after-school teacher Amy was wonderful. Jasmine was so positively influenced by Amy, as well as, her new friend Sherry, that she wanted to get involved in tumbling and competitive cheerleading. The coaches teach so much more than tumbling, stunts and cheers. They teach cooperation, teamwork, friendship and love for each other. Jasmine and I will miss being a part of the ECCATS family this year since we are moving away. You all will have a special place in our hearts.

Keep providing a safe and positive environment for East Carolina boys and girls. We love you both.
God Bless.

Wow. ECCATS has really helped me out these past few weeks. Me as a person im always crazy acting but these past few weeks I wasnt being myself. I started at a new school this year after being at the same school for 8 years. The school I had attended before was private and was really small. The new school I am attending is public and much larger than the school environment im used to. My first week there i was MISERABLE!! B.C I was not used to anything there.....the teachers, the students, the work. I HATED it. I came home everyday crying and i was just sad all the time. My family and friends all noticed how unhappy i was. All i wanted was to go back to the school i was used to. But they didnt have a classes for freshmen at my old school. I was so confused and upset. I just hated everything there. I started school on a Thurs. Well the next monday i had Cheer practice for bobcats at the gym. ECCATS was pretty much the only thing that i looked forward to doing. When i got there TJ's enthusiasm IMMEDIATELY lifted my spirits higher. Everyone else in the gyms energy and friendly attitude made me forget about all i had been upset about. TJ espcially. He just was so nice and crazy acting making me laugh i was me when i was at the gym!! When i got home that night i started thinking about the quote on one of the shirts there at ECCATS..."success doesn't come to you...you go to it". So i thought about that. In order to succeed in my new school i had to TRY and make it work instead of not giving it a full chance. So I put that quote in the Front of my notebook and I went to school and gave it all i had and now i like it a lot more. Im much happier b.c i went and did what had to be done to make me happy. Thank you ECCATS. THANK YOU TJ. I love the gym so much!! Its the BEST thing that has EVER happened to me!! I LOVE ECCATS=)

Jailyn has been a all star team member for 4 years.  She has now entered middle school and is maturing into a young lady. ECCATS is just simply a way of life for us.  We could not imagine life without cheerleading.  It is not just about the practices, the routines, the competitions and the excitement of winning.  It is the life long lessons she has learned over the years that will influence her forever.  She has come to learn the value of hard work, discipline, team commitment, and accountability. She has learned how to lose and lose with dignity and have sportsmanship and respect for other squads, other gyms, and fellow members.  She has learned how to win and win with humility and selflessness.  She is laying the foundation for life long friendships and relationships and that will carry her through life's challenges. It took a while to look past the expense of the sport and see the true value of what cheerleading gives to her.  You cannot put a price on the happiness and security she has at ECCATS, with all the staff, coaches and her teammates. There is no where in the world she would rather be.  I value the friendships we have made with the parents and honestly miss everyone so much in the "off" season.  We are looking forward to getting back on the road!

We stumbled on ECCATS three years ago after my daughter decided her life dream was to become an ECU cheerleader.  At three years old, she often stood with the girls at the basketball games with a huge grin on her face dancing to the music which seemed to vibrate throughout the arena.  She didn’t seem to mind.  “Mama, I want to cheer” is what she would say to me over and over again.  So, here began my search.  We signed up for tumbling at age five.
I had all the questions a mom would have about their child starting something new.  Would she be able to keep up?  Was it safe?  What about the “cheer” stereo-types?  Would this choice cause self-esteem issues?  Would it remain fun or would it all be work?

I shortly realized that it was the best decision that she and I have made.  She has been a competitive cheerleader from the start.  Her spirit seems so positive and she’s an inspiration to watch.  I found myself with chills of pride that my daughter felt confident enough to get up in front of huge groups of people to perform routines that were challenging, fun, and age appropriate.  She has often said that it is a lot of work and that she wants a day off.  But she has never wanted to quit.  She loves the coaches and the support and friendship they offer.  She has a network or friends outside of school that she can count on and Jamie and TJ have always had an open-door policy for everyone.  Their goal has always been to make the girls (and guys) desire to reach the next level with encouragement.

My daughter is a better person for being involved with ECCATS.  Every year she learns something else about herself that a parent can’t teach.  We encourage her heart desires.  We want her to be happy, healthy and have fun.  It does take commitment and I feel ECCATS has taught her a tremendous amount about teamwork and perseverance.   She may never become an ECU cheerleader but that’s okay.  The glimmer in her eye brought us to ECCATS and I’m so glad it did.
Kris Manning Brilea’s Mom

This will be the 4th year our daughters have been on an all star cheerleading team at EC Cats. Cheerleading and EC Cats is a way of life for them and our family. They have learned many positive lessons in this sport at EC Cats. Team commitment, perserverence, setting goals and being challenged to work on stunting and tumbling skills are some of the things they have learned. You have taught our daughters valuable skills that they will take with them into adulthood. Thank you EC Cats, TJ, Misty, Will and past coaches!!!
Pam Smith (Jillian and Madison Smiths' Mom)

I just want to say i am so proud to be a cat!! I am so thankful to have become a part of this gym. Its going on 3 years now that i have been a member and it has TRULY been the best 3 years ever. I have made forever friends and had way more than one life changing experience. I have had to many to count people to touch my heart and my life forever. I would not trade my experiences and life changing friends and coaches for anything in this entire world. Some of those life changing coaches have come and gone and i may never see a lot of them again. But the impact they made on my life will last forever. ECCATS is NOT just a cheer gym that teaches routines and tumbling passes. Its a place that once you enter theres no way in the world you wont come out a better, stronger, outstanding person. I dont just mean in cheerleading i mean in LIFE. The coaches are more than spotters and people who yell your counts their coaches on life too! They make comments or say things that really truly make a difference. You truly become a better person. Its simply amazing. I have NEVER been so impacted and CHANGED in such a short period of time in my life. Its so overwhelming that i am so blessed to have these amazing friends and coaches from eccats. I cant express my heart for this gym enough. If i am having a terrible day at school and i go to cats my spirit is IMMEDIATELY lifted when i walk through the doors. No one even has to speak. Just being there makes me so happy. When i am there i work the hardest i can to be an asset to my gym. I work hard at home and everywhere so i can be a better cheerleader. Not only do i practice my jumps, tumbling, stretching at home I practice the life lessons i leave that gym with everytime i go. The coaches are so amazing and i KNOW that they are heaven sent to me. I have had so many struggles and lost a lot of people and i know that my loved ones in heaven sent me this gym to keep me going and boy oh boy it has. My self esteem was so incredibly low before ECCATS and now its so high. They taught me to BELIEVE in myself. My coaches are so amazing. Even if they yell at us or make us run. I wouldnt trade them for ANYTHING in this WORLD. They change me a little more each week and their is only more to come. Thank you so much my ECCATS family. I LOVE YOU.

Just wanted to share our thoughts about Kendall's 1st cheer season at EC Cats. She loved it! She is only 5 and we were not really sure if that was old enough to start competitions and after having 2 older brothers she was only used to being a spectator at all their ball games. Well, cheerleading has become her "thing" and she really caught on and looked forward to her classes, her coaches and the competitions, although she only had 6 kids on her team she was voted MVP. She just took it seriously and was driven to do her best. Performing in front of such large crowds didn't phase her one bit. In her day care facility they have a big board with all the kids names and what they want to be when they grow up...most of the kids want to be Doctors, teachers, police offciers, nurses, vets, army soldiers but Kendall? She wrote that she wants to grow up & be a cheerleader! So that tells us EC Cats has made an impact on her after just 1 short season. Thanks to Coleman & Grayson. Kendall adored you both and teaching 4 & 5 year olds is not an easy task. It's greatly appreciated.
Loren Spencer (Kendall's Mom)

ECCATS prepares you to cheer at the college level.  I cheered for ECCATS since the sixth grade.  ECCATS provided for me the tumbling and stunting training I needed. Along with the national titles my teams won while I cheered competitively at CATS my high school team also won 2 national titles.  Being on these teams, and having good coaches boosted my abilities as well as my confidence.
ECCATS has always been there to help me when I desired extra help with a specific skill.  All I had to do was ask.  Because of my busy schedule I was not able to attend regular classes this year and ECCATS went out of their way to extend to me some time here and there to brush up my skills. Competing at a college level is more difficult than what you get to experience on the high school level so you really need to ask questions and be prepared.  On the high school level you don't get any practice with one man stunting, so for ECCATS to provide that for me was a lifesaver.   Special thanks to TJ, Jamie, Hunter and all the ECCATS staff, I will always cherish my time spent with you.

I love yall!
